2023: Long Islanders Voted Tobay Beach Best Beach!
Tobay Beach
Tobay Beach, owned and operated by the Town of Oyster Bay, is open to town residents with limited access granted to non-residents. The family-friendly environment is complete with playgrounds, picnic tables, bathrooms, and a concession stand. Tobay Beach has been enjoyed by Long Island residents since the 1920s. It is home to a marina and is a popular spot among boaters and fishermen. Beach-goers may choose to either enjoy the soothing sounds of the waves on the Atlantic Ocean beachside or bask in the calmer waters of the Great South Bay on the north side. The venue also features a spray park with splash and play water features to keep children happy during the hot summer days.
2022: Long Islanders Voted Jones Beach Best Beach!
Jones Beach
1 Ocean Pkwy, Wantagh
What would Long Island be without its beaches? This year, Jones Beach in Wantagh takes the top spot for best beach. Every summer, families flock there for some fun in the sun. It’s where generations of Long Islanders have made memories picnicking, playing in the sand, and swimming in the ocean. But this South Shore landmark is more than just a beach – it’s a boardwalk where cyclists and runners get exercise and where several annual charity walks are held each year, a site for live music, and a nature preserve. There are also food concessions on the recently-renovated boardwalk and an adventure course. Plus, it’s the site of the popular Bethpage Air Show every Memorial Day Weekend, a fireworks show on the Fourth of July, and the Magic of Lights holiday drive-thru show to round out the year. Safe to say Jones Beach has it all, and Long Islanders treasure it.
