Jefferson’s Ferry opened its doors in 2001 as the first not for profit continuing care retirement community on Long Island. Jefferson’s Ferry offers a continuum of care that allows residents to “age in place,” from independent living to assisted living housing and skilled nursing as needed on one site. The security of this coordinated system of services is designed to address the comfort, health, wellness and developing needs of our residents over the course of their lives. Seniors who enter Jefferson’s Ferry sign a lifecare contract that provides for this care. Individuals qualify for the lifecare contract by passing a health and financial assessment. By planning ahead in this way, they are protected from the uncertainty of the future costs of long term care.
More than 400 residents age 62 years and older live at Jefferson’s Ferry in either:
